Poorly designed!, April 29, 2012 By JeffO (Merrimack, NH) - See all my reviews This review is from: BAMF Shit Kicker 29er Mountain Bike (Misc.) Despite a thorough check and tightening of key components including wheels, the rear wheel had come loose and slipped some. I flipped the bike over and as I seated it as deep into the BB as it would go, I suddenly realized that the clearance between the frame and the cassette was not even enough to allow for a credit card to slip between the frame and the cassette!!!!!!
When I discovered this, I was actually walking the bike up a very steep sandy incline with the expectation of zooming down the other side- a hard pack dirt area. Had I not realized the rear wheel situation, I surely would have crashed.
I was SORELY disappointed as this appeared to be such a great value. And in reality, I really liked the bike. It is light, fast and good looking!! The comparable bike at the LBS is easily twice the price.
I've bought mail order bikes before and have been very pleased with the experience. This was no one of those!
